Intro

Born and raised in Jaffa, Said completed his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Rutgers University in New Jersey. His dissertation thesis examined the application of psychoanalytic theory and practice to a formulation of Arab self. His clinical training and practice centered on the psychological assessment and treatment of emotional and physical traumas. In addition to past work as a rehabilitation psychologist at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, NY, Said later served as an assistant professor Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Birzeit University. Currently based in New York, Said works in private practice and maintains clinical research interests in studying Palestinian subjectivity under settler colonial rule, as well as developing decolonializing practices for individual and community-based interventions.
